Our
Purpose
As we enter the Age of
Aquarius - the New Age - the nature of
religious expression is changing. To
meet that need, the NACC Seminary
Program was established. To help
individuals develop their own personal
religion or spiritual life, to
train and assist individuals to
establish the type of spiritual
institution suitable to the New Age, and
to provide a venue to uncover the basic
facts, the truth, upon which religion is
based, is our purpose
The New Age Community Church,
embracing the Seminary Program, the Healing Hands Program, the
Omega Directory and the aznewage web site, is
an organization dedicated the preparation of men and
women for the New Age and the many changes it will bring. It is
not exclusive, but rather inclusive,
seeking to bring all faiths together
through an understanding of the facts. It
seeks to fulfill its mission through education, professional
development and spiritual formation.
What We Believe
and Teach
It is clear that the
changes that are taking place in the world and the changes that
will continue to take place require individuals with new tools
and a new understanding of reality. What we teach begins
with the following:
Articles of
Belief
(1) We believe in God as the one eternal reality.
(2)We reverence Eve, Mary or Gaia, that great matriarch who is
the source of all life.
(3) We believe in Masters, Avatars and Gurus who can guide the
lives of individuals,
(4) We believe that we dwell on two worlds - the physical plane and the astral plane, or the
spirit world.
(5) We believe that all scripture is divinely inspired and
, to one degree or another, can be said to be the
Word of God
(6) We believe that we are entering a new world of
consciousness, the Age of Aquarius, and that the idea of a war
between Good and Evil belongs in the past.
(7)We believe the greatest threat to mankind today is government
and its attempts to rule human thought and activity.
(8) We believe that individuals have the right and
responsibility to follow the dictates of his or her own
conscience and that no one has the right to force others to his
will,
(9) We believe
that there are many things as yet unknown or not understood, but
that humanity is continually growing in awareness.
The above statements of belief
are not dogma or are not binding upon our ministers, but they
are a guideline in understanding truth.
While we use the Bible, the
Bhagavad Gita and A Course in Miracles as source
books, we do not regard them as Law but rather as clarification
and insights into the minds of other spiritual teachers. The
Seminary Program meets in small, informal groups. The primary
teacher has been Rev. Dr. John Rodger who uses the ancient
Socratic method of teaching along with lecture and
demonstration. Each semester provides its students with
hand-outs, pamphlets and textbooks. While a number of outside
texts are recommended, the only books the student will be
required to buy are the King James Version of the Bible and the
Ramacharaka translation of the Bhagavad Gita.
Other classes and personal
training are available from time to time. Contact the church for
this information.
Full payment is expected at the
beginning of each semester unless a payment plan has been
arranged.
Four semesters are completed with a
test. Students must receive 70% on the test to pass. Those
students who fail to pass, may retake that semester at no
additional cost.
Upon successfully completing all
required semesters, students may then apply to the board of
directors for ordination as New Age pPnisters. Once
ordained, ministers who are interested will be guided in
establishing their own church.
The Curriculum
The Seminary currently
offers six semesters of training, which can be taken
individually and in any order. There are no prerequisites
for any semester, but the more you know the more you will get
out of the course. Students are required to be at class on
time with the study materials, a notepad and pen. The homework
that is required is to read each week's pamphlets,
hand-outs and text material. Students may be
asked to do special outside study or activities.
