PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
a.
Our current pledge of Allegiance has had difficulty almost from
its inception. People have refused to pledge allegiance to the
flag because they said it was in violation of the Ten Commandments
against IDOL WORSHIP.
b.
To pledge allegiance promotes blind adoration of a flag, a piece
of cloth. While this does promote a kind of patriotism, it does
not promote an understanding of the nature of our government and
the importance
of the U.S. Constitution is holding it together.
c.
I propose the following change to the second line of the Pledge;
I
pledge allegiance to the Constitution of the United States of
America,
and
to the republic it has formed,
one
nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
