SUZANNE SOMMERS speaks out against The Dietary Supplement Safety Act (DSSA). IShe says it would repeal key sections of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act which has been effect since 1994. Under the new rules the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) can arbitrarily ban a food supplement or reclassify it as a drug. Recently, the FDA yanked from the market a supplement product based on just a couple of alleged adverse event reports without even allowing the company (an old and respected firm) to provide any counter-evidence or counter-argument. Under the new rules, their power will be even greater as they put vitamin companies out of business.
