Chakra is a Sanskrit word which means a wheel, because the chakras are circular and spin like a wheel. Pouring in and out of the center of each wheel or chakra are streams of radiating energy which, to a psychic, look like the spinning spokes of a wheel. The chakras also resemble flowers. The flowing energy gives the appearance of petals. Some chakras have just a few petals, others have thousands. There are seven major chakras and a number of minor ones. It is the seven major chakras that we will deal with here. |
